Illness before a trip: a cancellation-assistance request is not an automatic refund

For readers who can use TRIPCARRY’s Korean interface, keep the seller’s exceptional-circumstances process separate from fare search.

Find the process attached to the actual booking

TRIPCARRY currently links flight booking onward to Trip.com. Trip.com’s customer-service page describes assistance in negotiating cancellations for certain unforeseeable medical circumstances. That is not a statement that every illness makes every fare refundable, or that TRIPCARRY itself approves refunds.

Prepare the request and evidence promptly

Read the seller’s current terms before submitting private medical documents. The consulted Trip.com page asks for supporting documents within one week after the cancellation request under its special-circumstance service. Confirm which evidence is needed for the actual booking and send it only through the proper private support channel; do not post medical records with a public review.

Keep the response separate from the request

Record the request reference, the seller’s answer and any conditions still awaiting approval. An assistance conversation does not cancel a ticket by itself or establish compensation, insurance coverage or a guaranteed refund. Check ordinary fare conditions too, and do not create a replacement booking assuming the old one has already been refunded.
